Cat 1 · 30 days
appointment within 30 calendar days. - Hb > 200g/L and asymptomatic - HCT > 0.6 (men), >0.56 (women) and asymptomatic - Hb (upper limit of normal) with thrombosis or symptoms of hyper viscosity
Cat 2 · 90 days
appointment within 90 calendar days. Hb > upper limit of normal with: - JAK2 V617F or exon 12 mutation and/or - suppressed EPO (no thrombosis symptoms)
Cat 3 · 365 days
appointment within 365 calendar days. - Hb > upper limit of normal to 200g/L or HCT 0.51 to 0.60 (men) with no red flags - Hb > upper limit of normal to 185g/L or HCT 0.48 to 0.56 (women)
Referral will be returned without this. If a mandatory test cannot be obtained, say so in the referral.

It is proposed that the following are not routinely provided in a public Haematology service The following are not routinely provided in a public Haematology service. - Elevated ferritin with normal/low transferrin saturation unless specific concerns - Simple folate, B12 deficiency - Isolated lymphopenia without evidence of lymphoproliferative disorder - Mild stable isolated cytopenia (Neutrophils >1.5, platelets >100, Hb>100) with unremarkable blood film - Isolated raised ESR, CRP or microglobulin without evidence of lymphoproliferative disorder or myeloma - Isolated red cell macrocytosis without cytopenia’s and otherwise unremarkable blood film - Iron deficiency with Hb >100
