appointment within 90 calendar days. - Asymptomatic homozygous sickle cell anaemia
Cat 3 · 365 days
appointment within 365 calendar days. - Pre-pregnancy counselling and gene testing
Referral will be returned without this. If a mandatory test cannot be obtained, say so in the referral.
- Family history of haemoglobinopathy - FBC - Hb electrophoresis - Iron studies - B12 and folate - E/LFT

It is proposed that the following are not routinely provided in a public Haematology service The following are not routinely provided in a public Haematology service. - Elevated ferritin with normal/low transferrin saturation unless specific concerns - Simple folate, B12 deficiency - Isolated lymphopenia without evidence of lymphoproliferative disorder - Mild stable isolated cytopenia (Neutrophils >1.5, platelets >100, Hb>100) with unremarkable blood film - Isolated raised ESR, CRP or microglobulin without evidence of lymphoproliferative disorder or myeloma - Isolated red cell macrocytosis without cytopenia’s and otherwise unremarkable blood film - Iron deficiency with Hb >100
