Cat 1 · 30 days
appointment within 30 calendar days. - Stable greenstick fracture without any significant deformity or swelling
- Small fractures that are properly aligned and without any evidence of angulation or displacement (e.g., small fractures of the fingers or toes)
- Hairline or stress fractures without any significant swelling, bruising, or functional impairment
- Minor clavicle fracture without skin tenting or neurovascular compromise
- Non-displaced fractures of the hand or wrist, without any open wound or neurovascular compromise
- A child currently in out of home care (OOHC) or at risk of entering or leaving OOHC, where they have previously been on a waiting list for this problem and were removed without receiving a service
Cat 2 · 90 days
appointment within 90 calendar days. - No category 2 criteria
Cat 3 · 365 days
appointment within 365 calendar days. - No Category 3 criteria
Essential referral information
Referral will be returned without this. If a mandatory test cannot be obtained, say so in the referral.
- Date and Time of Injury: When the fracture occurred
- Mechanism of Injury: How the fracture happened (e.g., fall, sports injury, direct impact)
- Xray
- Confirmation of OOHC (where appropriate)
Out of scope / wrong door
- Aesthetic or cosmetic surgery
- Disability assessment (refer to HealthPathways)
- Referrals for assessment prior to application for the Australian Defence Force or Queensland Police Service
